DAY 1:

Artisans, Architecture & Wine

Our carefully curated itineraries are designed to immerse guests in the local artisanal flavors and traditions of the region. You’ll meet locals who are stewards of time-honored traditions and gain a deep appreciation for their way of life.

We’ll explore the cosmopolitan side of Merano—local cuisine, wine tasting, beautiful architecture, and shopping along palm-tree-lined streets with stunning views of snow-capped mountains.

To welcome you properly, we’ll begin with a guided tour of Merano. We’ll walk its beautiful streets, learn its history, take in the antiquity, and enjoy lunch featuring local flavors.

Later, we’ll visit an800-year-old winery with a museum of incredible wine-making instruments from long ago. Our visit will culminate in a tasting experience and a deeper look at the winery’s unique story.

DAY 2:

Mountains, Cowbells & Castles

We'll take a short ride to San Virgilio and board a cable car to the “almost top.” The views of Merano, Avelengo, and the valley below are absolutely stunning.

From there, we’ll hop on the cutest single chair lifts to the very top—where the views get even better. A gentle mountain walk awaits (go at your own pace), along with fresh air and the sound of cowbells echoing through the hills.

We’ll stop for lunch at a traditional Hütte, enjoying local fare and alpine views on the way back down.

Later, we’ll visit majestic Tirol Castle, originally built before 1100. We’ll explore its museum, dive into medieval history, and soak up yet more stunning vistas.

DAY 3:

Dolomites

We’ll leave early to head into the Dolomite Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its dramatic rock formations and rich culture.

The exact itinerary depends on the weather (fingers crossed!), but you can expect gorgeous scenery, a gentle walk or small hike, and the unique experience of seeing signage in bothItalian and German—this region is a true blend of cultures.

Planned stops include San Martino in Badia and Canazei, with a delicious lunch in Bressanone/Brixen.

DAY 4:

Rest, Spa & Rejuvenation

We’ve built in a day of total relaxation so you can fully enjoy the hotel’s offerings.

Lounge by the pool, unwind in the spa, or stroll the walking trails at your own pace. Spa services aren’t included in the trip cost, giving you the freedom to select treatments that suit your needs.

DAY 5:

Wool, Knitting & Gardens

This is such a special day! You’ll be introduced to the art of age old knitted wool. You'll see the full transformation from newly sheared wool, to the spinning process, knitting and crafting authentic Tyrolean pieces to last many years!

Later, we’ll visit the stunning Trauttmansdorff Castle Gardens in Merano. With over 80 garden landscapes featuring plants from all over the world, it’s a beautiful blend of contemporary design and medieval charm.

The castle, built in the 1300s, was once a retreat for Empress Sissi of Austria, who came to Merano for its healing thermal baths.

DAY 6:

We’ll wrap up our trip with something truly memorable: a visit to a local vineyard.

"I feel so fortunate to have joined Amy and Cinzia on this trip to Merano, Italy. Merano is nothing short of magical and I left feeling so giddy that I got to experience all that it had to offer. It was a truly grounding experience - it completely changed the trajectory of my life, and I couldn't be more grateful. There is nothing quite like getting to witness women, of all ages, experience such joy together."

Merano 2025

"Along with my friend Eileen we were lucky enough to go on Kefi Tours to Merano Italy. Incredible week long tours and excursions. Wine masters & vineyards, wool factory and the sisters who keep the business running, cathedrals, village churches, farms, livestock, horses, cooking class, parks, museums, and the gorgeous flowers! Our hotel was 5 star with a view of the Alps and the gorgeous landscape. We were very lucky to be on the maiden voyage and it was worth it. Amy and her Italian BFF Cinzia were a wealth of knowledge and professional. If you are considering Italy, Kefi Tours will take you to places you did not know existed. Always professional, knowledgeable and an awesome time! Thanks Amy!"

Do I need to know anything about Visa requirements?

If you are traveling to Europe with Kefi Tours, you should be aware of the new ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) requirements. Starting in 2024, citizens of visa-exempt countries, including the U.S., must apply for ETIAS authorization before entering the Schengen Area, which includes Italy. This is not a visa but a travel authorization that can be obtained online and is valid for up to three years. For more details, visit the official ETIAS website.

Do you handle travel insurance for me?

This is not something I handle but I encourage you to look into this for yourself.
